Level 7 Diploma In Healthcare Management

ATHE (The Management Awarding Body) is an awarding body that specializes in offering courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level in Management, Healthcare Management and Travel and Tourism Management. ATHE is regulated by Ofqual, and students can progress onto various UK University programmes on completing any qualification. ATHE’s level 7 qualifications in Healthcare Management provide generic management skills for those planning to or working in the healthcare sector with additional units that are specifically targeted at those working in the public sector.

Course Objectives

The qualification aims to deliver the skills and knowledge that meet the needs of managers wishing to work in the Healthcare sector. The programme is a mixture of health services management and general management. It also enables health professionals to obtain the required skills to manage health care services in the ever dynamic business environments.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

All Level 7 students are required to be at least 21 years of age. In addition, they are required to have the following:

  • A CERTIFIED copy of a UK Bachelor’s Degree, or a similar equivalent of a Level 6 qualification. (OR)
    An equivalent of a Level 5 qualification with 3 years work experience
  • Mature students over 21 years do not have to have these requirements but should have suitable work experience of no less than 2 years.
  • A CERTIFIED copy of all Academic Transcripts

English Language Proficiency :

For students whose first language is not English, they should have an English Language Test from the UK Border Agency approved test provider, and have achieved at least CEFR Level B2 in all four components (reading, writing, speaking and listening).

Course Progression Routes

On successful completion of a Level 7 qualification in Healthcare Management there are a number of progression opportunities.

  • larger qualifications at the same level eg. from an award to a certificate or to the Diploma in Strategic Management or the Diploma in Healthcare Management
  • An MBA programme and claim exemptions for some of the units completed .

Within this suite of qualifications, learners have the opportunity to build their achievements from a single unit into a full Diploma. The qualification is designed to enable entry onto University programmes in Business, and/or progression into management roles in various business sectors.
